The very first episode of "Vroeger Was Alles Beter" aired April 1998. The music played is rock and roll in all it's variations. From the birth of the rock and roll (around 1955) till today.

In the rock 'n roll we recognize various trends. Let me give you some examples:

black rock 'n roll (Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Little Richard, Fats Domino)

doowop (Coasters, Dion & the Belmonts)

country rock (Everly Brothers)

indorock ( Tielman Brothers, Black Dynamites)

highschool rock (Ricky Nelson, Fabian, Bobby Vee)

surf-rock (Dick Dale, Trashmen, Jean & Dean)

instrumental rock (Ventures, Shadows, Johnny & the Hurricanes, Duane Eddy)

twist (Chubby Checker)

rockabilly (Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Burnette Trio)

teddyboy rock 'n roll (Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers, the Teen Cats)

All these different rock 'n roll trends can be heard in this radio program. As well as the music from the rock 'n roll revival from the 70's and 80's. Also current rock 'n roll bands get the necessary attention.
Besides the music we also give information about anything that has reference to the artist and/or the song.
